Drilling of wells and piezometers has started!

On November 22, 2019, drilling of the first geological boreholes began as part of the task "Execution of a geological works project and drilling of intercepting and injection wells" implemented under the Project entitled "Remediation of polluted areas in the area of ​​the former ZCH "Zachem" in Bydgoszcz in order to eliminate health and environmental hazards, including the Natura 2000 area of ​​the Lower Vistula Valley and the Baltic Sea.

Geological works will include the construction of 4 intercepting wells and 3 injection wells, which are necessary for the foundation of the future innovative remediation installation. In addition, 16 observation piezometers will be drilled, which will be used, among others, for to control the effectiveness of the remediation process. The works are carried out in accordance with the Geological Works Project approved by the Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship by decision of September 12, 2019 and will last until the end of 2019. After completing all the holes provided for in this task, it will be possible to start the second stage of preliminary research, which will include collecting groundwater samples and subjecting them to laboratory analysis.
